Andi Eigenmann reveals Jaclyn Jose's death was due to heart attack

Andi Eigenmann revealed that her mother, Jaclyn Jose, died on Saturday morning, March 2, due to myocardial infarction or heart attack.

In a press conference, the Siargao-based former actress asked for respect and privacy as their family tries to "come to terms with this unfortunate incident."

"It's with great sadness that I announce the untimely passing of my nanay, Mary Jane Guck, better known as Jaclyn Jose," she said.

"As our family is trying to come to terms with this unfortunate incident, please provide us the respect and privacy to grieve, and we hope this puts all the speculations to rest," she added.

Andi also paid tribute to Jose's "undeniable legacy," which she said will "forever live on through her work, through her children, through her grandchildren, and the many lives she's touched."

"She herself, her life itself, was her greatest obra maestra," Andi concluded.

Jose's passing was earlier confirmed by talent management agency PPL Entertainment in a social media post.

In 2016, Jose won Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival for her mesmerizing performance in Brillante Mendoza's "Ma'Rosa."

Jose's other notable performances include starring and supporting roles in films such as "The Flor Contemplacion Story" (1995) and "Patay Na Si Hesus" (2019). She also starred in several GMA Network series, including "Marimar," "The Millionaire's Wife," and "D'Originals."
