Manila Luzon reveals Madonna is among the inspirations for her drag name

Manila Luzon is over the moon because she got to share the stage with her longtime idol, Madonna.

In an Instagram post, the Filipino-American drag artist could now help but express all her feels about the performance.

“My idol @madonna invited me to join her show in my hometown!” Manila wrote with crying and heart emojis.

Manila added that the Queen of Pop is her creative inspiration.

“Madonna has been my biggest inspiration for my drag and my artistic life!” she said.

“One of the reasons I named myself MANILA is because it has the same number of syllables as Madonna’s name,” she added.

The artist also said she was accompanied by two close friends who had supported her drag since the beginning.

“This was such a full circle moment for me!” Manila said.

Manila joined Madonna to perform “Vogue,” where they acted as judges and gave score cards to dancers who acted as models walking down the runway.

Manila Luzon was named Best Entertainment Host for her work on “Drag Den Philippines” at the Asian Academy Creative Awards in Singapore last December, and Best Entertainment Presenter at Asian TV Awards in January.

The second season of “Drag Den Philippines” premiered on Prime Video in January and is grander than ever with a new set of rules, a new den, and a lot of new challenges.

The 10 competing queens are Deja, Elvira, Feyvah Fatale, Jean Vilogue, Margaux, Maria Lava, Marlyn, Moi, Mrs Tan, and Russia Fox.
