Barbie Forteza reveals she auditioned for three young Marian Rivera roles in the past but failed
Barbie Forteza may be a household name but best believe, it wasn't an overnight success for the lovely Kapuso star.
On Monday’s episode of Fast Talk, the Kapuso Primetime Princess revealed how she auditioned for not one but three iconic roles of Marian — and failed them all.
“‘Yong unang tatlong roles ni Miss Marian Rivera, nag-audition po ako as a young [Marian]. Yung Marimar, Dyesebel at Darna,” she shared.
The 26-year-old actress recalled how she first failed the audition for Marimar because she was afraid of dogs. "Eh di ba, may Fulgoso, duon?" Barbie recalls laughing.
Then she auditioned as a young Dyesebel, but didn't get the role because she didn’t know how to swim.
“Ganda lang siya. Ganda lang ambag ni girl! Eh medyo ‘yon yung point ng show. Dapat marunong ka lumangoy,” Barbie said, still laughing.
For a third time, she auditioned for the role of a young Darna "pero takot naman po ako sa heights! Hindi naman pwedeng lumipad,” she continued to laugh.
"Hindi rin ako sure, bakit ako nag-audition!” She added good-naturedly.
Clearly, all those failures made no dent on Barbie as she is set to star in the upcoming historical action-drama “Pulang Araw."
She will be joined by her ka-love team and fellow “Maria Clara at Ibarra” star David Licauco, Sanya Lopez, and Alden Richards.
