As Boy Abunda renews contract with GMA Network, he vows to continue doing his show 'with gratitude and love'
Boy Abunda remains a Kapuso as he renews his contract with GMA Network.
As his contract signing Monday, the King of Talk had nothing but gratitude to the Kapuso Network especially to the team behind his highly successful talk show “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda.”
“It takes a village to do a 20-minute talk show," he said. "I don’t do this alone, I do this with a community of committed people."
The veteran TV host also vowed to continue doing his show with “gratitude and love.”
“Lubos akong nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng ito. I will continue to do the show with gratitude and love. Maraming salamat,” he added.
Present at the contract signing ceremony were GMA Network Chairman Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, President and Chief Executive Officer Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong, Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group, and President of GMA Films Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable, Vice President for Corporate Affairs and Communications Angela Javier Cruz, and Vice President for Business Development Department III Gigi Santiago-Lara.
In his speech, Gozon expressed his gratitude to the Kapuso host, and even compared him to American TV hosts Oprah Winfrey and Larry King.
“Kami ay nagpapasalamat at nagagalak na nag-renew na naman tayo kay Boy. At sa tingin ko hahaba pa dahil si Boy ay hindi lamang talk show host. Kaya niya ang maski anong subject. Para siyang si Oprah [Winfrey] at 'saka si Larry King,” he said.
[We are thankful and glad that Boy renewed his contract with us. I think, our working relationship with Boy will continue to flourish in the long run because he is not just a talk show host. He can do many different subjects. He is like Oprah Winfrey and Larry King.]
“Boy, maraming salamat. Kami talaga ay looking forward to more years na may partnership tayo,” he added.
Boy Abunda returned to GMA Network back in December 2022 and quickly launched his daily 20-minute show "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" in January 2023.
Since then, he has been breaking important showbiz news including the hullabaloo surrounding Liza Soberano's attempt to leave local show business and enter Hollywood.
