Rico Blanco brings the '90s energy in Rivermaya throwback picture

A few days before the Rivermaya reunion, Rico Blanco got fans excited with a throwback picture.

The black and white pic shows the members posing in their classic ‘90s outfits and wearing today’s trendy sneakers, the Adidas Samba.

Rico said in his caption, “Samba OGs – that’s you guys. Feb 17, let’s dance.”

He added the hashtags, #AlwaysThankful, #EverydayIsABlessing, and  #RivermayaTheReunion.

Fans got nostalgic and added that they were now even more excited for the concert.

“Eto yung unang picture na nakita ko sa songhits na nagsimula ng [gastos] ko sa Adidas!” a fan commented.

“Lapit na mga idol! Excited na sa concert,” another supporter said.

Former vocalist and guitarist Rico, former vocalist Bamboo Manalac, drummer Mark Escueta, and bassist Nathan Azarcon are all set for the reunion concert next Saturday, February 17 at the SMDC Festival Grounds. The OPM band said in a previous interview that their songs will be given a new meaning because they are more mature now.

Rivermaya is hyping fans for the show by posting throwback and rehearsal photos, plus behind-the-scenes clips.

The band is best known for songs like "214," "Kisapmata," "Elesi," "Awit ng Kabataan" and more.
