Liza Soberano says 'Lisa Frankenstein' is the 'kind of movie I've always wanted to do'

It's been almost a year since Liza Soberano opened up about her Hollywood dream, and it really manifested!

The 26-year-old Filipino-American actress made her Hollywood debut in the official premiere of "Lisa Frankenstein" at The Hollywood Athletic Club on Tuesday night.

In a press statement, Liza said "Lisa Frankenstein" is the kind of movie she wants to do more of.

"I was looking for a role that would really push me," she said.

"It's the kind of movie I've always wanted to do. It has horror, comedy, and romance in one," she added.

While Liza acknowledged that leaving the Philippine show business to carve a path in Hollywood was a huge risk, it also excites her at the same time for what lies ahead.

"I know I've learned a lot no matter how it turns out," she said. "That's what counts."

Inspired by the gothic novel "Frankenstein" by English writer Mary Shelley, "Lisa Frankenstein" follows the story of Lisa (Kathryn Newton), a misunderstood teenager, and her high school crush, played by Cole Sprouse, who happens to be a handsome corpse.
