Kris Aquino pays tribute to Deo Endrinal: ‘He believed in me when many doubted’

Kris Aquino is among those mourning Deo Endrinal, the head of Dreamscape Entertainment.

On Instagram, the Queen of All Media shared an old photo of her with Endrinal and said that while they had drifted apart after she left the Kapamilya channel, "he shall ALWAYS remain the reason I learned the importance of honoring the job you’ve been given."

Kris recalled how Endrinal, her sole manager when she was a 28-year-old single mom, instilled in her respect for the job with a 12am curfew.

"He said: You have a morning show that airs LIVE at 11am. If you’re seen out until 3am, the staff in that restaurant may mga nanay at asawa, audience mo sila. Nasa studio ka ng 9am, meaning bumangon ka para maligo at 7:30. Paano ka gagalangin ng audience mo kung hindi mo binibigyan ng importansya ang trabaho mo?” She recalled.

[He said: You have a morning show that airs LIVE at 11am. If you're seen out until 3am, the staff in that restaurant — there are wives and mothers. They are your audience. You are in the studio by 9am, which means you will need to get up at 7:30am. Who will your audience respect you if you don't give importance to your work?]

Kris also credited Endrinal for his faith on her. "Deo believed in me when many doubted," she said.

According to the 52-year-old actress, the entertainment executive showed her the value of professionalism, respect, and generosity.

He had also instilled in her the importance of separating what is personal from professional.

“He fought for me when I asked to take an indefinite leave from SNN & The BUZZ during my mom’s last few weeks alive because he understood why I refused to leave her hospital room,” she added.

According to Kris, Endrinal was a generous and thoughtful ninong to her Bimby. He wrote the most beautiful messages in his cards, she said.

In her tribute, she also took time to apologize to Endrinal for failing to reach out to him.

“My wrong choice prevented us from being each other’s support system when we should’ve been there for each other,” Kris said. She explained her reason for sharing her incorrect choices: "For others to see that pride in the end only leaves us with regret."

Ending her post, she told Endrinal, whom she called LA, that she never “unloved” him.

"I am proud to declare — I’d never have become KRIS without the magical guidance of the creative genius that was DEO ENDRINA," Kris said.

Endrinal's son PJ confirmed his father's death late Saturday night. According to PEP.ph, Endrinal died of multiple organ failure.

Previously, "It’s Showtime" host Vice Ganda also paid tribute to Endrinal and called him his "angel."

Endrinal was the person behind several ABS-CBN shows, including "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano," "May Bukas Pa," and "The Buzz," among others.
