Liza Soberano is a scene-stealer in 'Lisa Frankenstein,' says American filmmaker Joe Russo
American filmmaker Joe Russo praised Liza Soberano for her performance in her first Hollywood project, "Lisa Frankenstein."
On X (formerly Twitter), the producer and director said that movies like the upcoming coming-of-age film can be "great vehicles to break new stars."
Joe said that director Zelda Williams and screenwriter Diablo Cody "found a superstar in Liza Soberano, who steals every scene she's in as Lisa's step-sister, Taffy."
This is not the first time that the Filipina actress has received applause for her talent.
Earlier, her co-star, Kathryn Newton, said that Liza is "always perfect" and that no one else could play Taffy except her.
"Lisa Frankenstein" is inspired by the gothic novel "Frankenstein" by English writer Mary Shelley.
The movie follows Lisa played by Kathryn, a misunderstood teenager, and her high school crush played by Cole Sprouse, who happens to be a handsome corpse.
Liza plays the role of Taffy, the stepsister of Lisa.
Last month, the film released its trailer, featuring Liza in a cheerleader uniform.
Distributed by Universal Pictures International, "Lisa Frankenstein" opens in cinemas on February 7.
