Carla Abellana remains a Kapuso, renews contract with GMA Network

Carla Abellana is still as a Kapuso!

On Monday, Carla renewed her contract with the GMA Network and could not help but be emotional during the press conference following her signing.

"I am more than delighted to be here in this morning. Today is a very special day for me. Napakahirap po at this moment na magpigil ng luha…ng iyak. This is very valuable sa akin. Napakaimportante po nito sa akin," the 37-year-old actress said.

She thanked the network and all the people who trusted and believed in her.

"Sabi nila, 'thank you that I decided to stay or sign again.' Ako po dapat ang magpasalamat sa inyo pong lahat for your trust. For your belief po sa akin. Hindi ko po ito makakalimutan. I will take good care of it. I will continue to grow and evolve and do my best 'yung aking pagiging artista at Kapuso. Kaya maraming salamat po," she said.

Present at the contract signing ceremony were GMA Network Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, GMA Network President and Chief Operating Officer Gilberto R. Duavit Jr., GMA Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong, GMA Network Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable and APT Entertainment CEO and President Director Michael Tuviera.

In his speech, Gozon expressed his gratitude to the Kapuso actress for choosing to stay with her home network.

"Si Carla ay homegrown artist ng GMA at siya ay isa sa mga pinakamagaling, maganda at popular na artista ngayon kaya't kami ay nagagalak na pinili niyang mag-renew sa kaniyang home studio. At dahil bata pa si Carla, aking hinuhulaan na malayong-malayo pa ang mararating niya sa industriya," he said.

2024 will be a busy year for Carla who is currently starring in the GMA Afternoon Prime series "Stolen Life."

Aside from her dual role in the series, she will be starring in GMA's upcoming series "Widow's War" alongside Bea Alonzo.

"Widow's War" is a spinoff of the GMA murder mystery series "Royal Blood" and "Widow's Web." The series will be directed by Zig Dulay, the same man behind "Maria Clara at Ibarra" and MMFF 2023 Best Picture Winner "Firefly."
