Carla Abellana finds Kris Aquino’s matchmaking offer 'amusing’

Kris Aquino has famously offered to set up Carla Abellana with a doctor friend.

On Instagram, she wrote her offer in reply to Carla's comment. While Kris' offer has been liked by several thousand netizens, Carla did not anymore engage.

At the sidelines of Carla's contract renewal with GMA Network, we simply had to ask the Kapuso actress what she thought of Kris' offer.

“I find it amusing and at the same time nakaka-flatter kasi naiisip niya pa ako," the Kapuso Primetime Goddess began.

"May ganoong nirereto siya, may suggestion siyang ganon. Ok naman. Nakakatuwa!” Carla added.

[I find it amusing and at the same time flattering to be thought of. She has someone in mind for me, a suggestion, so it's really OK! It's very amusing.]

Carla considers the matchmaking offer a “compliment.”

“In a way compliment pa nga ‘yon. Parang magandang gesture coming from her na meron siyang naiisip para sa akin,” she told GMA News Online.

But Carla admits she isn't considering it yet.

“Medyo mahirap iyon kasi all the way sa US. Medyo natatakot pa po ako (That's going to be hard because all the way in the US. And I am still afraid),” the 37-year-old actress said.

Carla said would sometimes laugh about it and shrug off the idea.

“Not that I don’t want to take her offer or not that I don’t trust her pero sa ngayon parang tatawanan ko na lang muna. Hindi ko muna i-eexplore yun,” Carla said.

Kris Aquino took to Instagram to share health updates. In one of her posts, Carla left a well-meaning comment. "Prayers for you, Ms. Kris," she wrote.

Kris took the opportunity and replied to Carla saying "if you’re already in the process of getting annulled we have a doctor friend based in OC who might be a great match."

Carla separated from her husband Tom Rodriguez a few months after their October 2021 wedding.

In fact, in June 2022, Tom announced they were already divorced.

On social media, Carla has since been sharing updates about her healing and moving forward after her failed marriage, including doing a daring photo shoot.

In a February 2023 interview with Boy Abunda, Carla revealed that while she doesn't see herself getting married again, she hasn't closed her doors on love. In September, the actress said that she had finally moved on from her relationship with Tom.

She just renewed her contract with the Kapuso Network on Monday morning, and by the way Tom is currently back in the Philippines. — LA, GMA Integrated News
