Jikamarie to Coldplay: ‘Thank you for using your platform to highlight Filipino artists like me’

Jikamarie, the OPM artist who opened for Coldplay during their two-night concert in the Philippines, took to Instagram to express her gratitude for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

“Thank you so much Coldplay for this amazing opportunity you've given to me and my team!” Jika said in her caption of her post bearing photos from backstage, the concert, her setlist, as well as a letter from Coldplay, thanking her "for playing these shows with us."

In her caption, she returned the band's gratitude and thanked them “for using your platform to highlight Filipino artists like me, and for teaching us local musicians the simple yet hard-hitting principle of following your heart throughout the entire adventure of music-making."

“You're changing lives with your music and your message—you guys and your entire team!” Jikamarie added.

The Filipino musician shared the months-long preparations all the way to the performance “have been one of the most fun, amazing, thrilling, and love-filled seasons of my life. What a way to start the year.”

Jika also made sure to thank everybody who was there for her, such as Warner Music Philippines, tech, glam, art, and music teams, as well as her band. Jikamarie also thanked her family and friends for the love and support, and God for blessing her with the opportunity.

“Parang may hangin sa loob ng puso ko, 'di ko maipaliwanag. salamat sa inyong lahat!”

She then told her fans, “To my Majika who've showered me with love, light, and truthfulness, I love you! at sa mga bagong kilala lang po sa'king music, nice to meet you.”

Jikamarie said, “Let’s take on this new year with more music and more love!”

Jikamarie is best known for the songs “Lutang,” “Hinahanap-Hanap,” and “lito.”

Coldplay had two concerts at the Philippine Arena for their Music of the Spheres Tour on January 19 and 20, 2024. They first visited the country in 2017.

Lola Amour made a surprise appearance and they "Raining in Manila" together on the first night, during which President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos attended with First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.
