'Widow's War' starring Bea Alonzo, Carla Abellana reveals cast
"Widow's War," the upcoming GMA Prime series starring Bea Alonzo and Carla Abellana, just revealed its cast!
According to Lhar Santiago's report on "24 Oras," Wednesday, Bea and Carla will be joined by Tonton Gutierrez, Mark Herras, Jeric Gonzales, Juancho Triviño, Jackie Lou Blanco, Lito Pimentel, Rita Daniela, Timmy Cruz, Lovely Rivero, James Graham, Charlie Fleming, Matthew Uy, Jean Garcia, and Benjamin Alves.
Bea and Carla both expressed excitement about working with each other for the very first time during the show's story conference on Tuesday.
"Ever since naman po 'yan and of course nu'ng nag-transfer po siya sa GMA, parang feeling ko mas within reach na po 'yung opportunity," Carla said. "So I'm very thankful na nabuo ito and we were given the chance to finally work together."
"I've always been vocal about wanting to work with Carla and Direk Zig for so long and it's finally happening, and I know that we have a very strong and beautiful script and and excellent cast," Bea said.
"Widow's War" is a spinoff of popular murder-mystery series "Royal Blood" and "Widow's Web."
It will be directed by Zig Dulay, the director behind "Maria Clara at Ibarra" and Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2023 Best Picture "Firefly."
Carla is currently starring in GMA Afternoon Prime series "Stolen Life." Bea, meanwhile, recently starred in the GMA Network-Viu Philippines collaboration "Love Before Sunrise."
