Andrea Del Rosario admits she didn't like being packaged as sexy star early in career
Andrea Del Rosario admitted that she didn't like being packaged as a sexy star during her early showbiz days.
On Wednesday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," the actress said she accepted it because at the time, her parents were separated and her mom had to take care of her and her siblings.
"My [goal] kasi at that time was to help my family, my drive to work was because of my family," she said.
"So, 'yun 'yung parang opportunity ko to somehow, you know, move forward in life," Andrea continued.
When asked if she felt torn, Andrea said, "As far as I can remember, yes."
"But of course, siyempre, parang kinondisyon ko na rin 'yung mind ko to have the right kind of mindset na don't regret any decision that you make, 'di ba? You just do it and 'yon, that's what I did," she added.
Should the time come that her daughter asks her about her previous projects, Andrea will explain that it was an opportunity given to her so she could move forward.
"I'll just explain to her that, of course we are all given the freedom of choice and at that time, I had to choose to survive and that was the opportunity that was given to me to somehow you know, move forward," she said.
Andrea continued, "If I can change it, of course, I mean—but, then again, siyempre tinuturo ko naman sa kanya that in anything that you do, whenever you make a mistake, the most important thing there is to learn from it, 'di ba?"
Andrea currently stars in "Makiling" with Derrick Monasterio and Elle Villanueva.
Other cast members include Thea Tolentino, Myrtle Sarrosa, Claire Castro, Kristoffer Martin, Teejay Marquez, and Royce Cabrera.
"Makiling" airs Mondays to Fridays at 4:05 p.m. after "Stolen Life."
