Joem Bascon explains why he doesn't have social media accounts
Joem Bascon has explained why he does not have social media accounts.
On Monday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," Joem said it's for his mental health.
According to the actor, having social media accounts is like going to a battlefield that you should be prepared for.
"It's like driving sa EDSA. Na kailangang prepared ka sa lahat ng nangyayari," he said.
The 37-year-old actor also admitted that the comments affected his mental health and him as a person. That was why he deleted his accounts and decided to focus on his partner Meryll Soriano and their family instead.
"It's a choice, and I'm happy right now," he said.
Meryll and Joem first became a couple in 2008, and they split one year later. They were rumored to have rekindled their relationship in 2019.
In January 2021, Meryll revealed they have a newborn child after posting a family photo, confirming that she and Joem are back together.
Last August, Meryll greeted him through a series of Instagram posts and called him, "my forever partner."
"Asawa ng Asawa Ko" also stars Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Rayver Cruz, and Liezel Lopez. The series airs Mondays to Thursdays on GMA Prime at 9:35 p.m. after "Love. Die. Repeat."
