David Licauco says having Barbie Forteza as co-star in 'Pulang Araw' assures him that ‘everything is going to be okay’
David Licauco is indeed more than happy to be working alongside Barbie Forteza once again for their upcoming series, “Pulang Araw.”
In Cata Tibayan’s report on “24 Oras,” Friday, the Pambansang Ginoo said that he has already started filming for the project, which also stars Sanya Lopez and Alden Richards.
“Every role, meron akong natutunan eh. Like dun sa ‘Maria Clara,’ may natutunan ako, kay Carding, may natutunan ako, and this time naman sa ‘Pulang Araw’ as Hiroshi, I want to immerse myself sa Japanese culture as much as I can,” he said.
David continued, “Barbie is there, so she keeps me, parang I have this assurance na everything is going to be okay when I'm with her kasi madali siya katrabaho and we know each other so well.”
The Sparkle star also shared that he relates to his character in the series.
“‘Pag Japanese ka eh medyo mahiyain ka, shy type. ‘Pag manliligaw ka, medyo mahiyain ka. I think, medyo gano’n ako in a way in real life so, hindi naman ako masyadong nahihirapan doon, I'm just being my real self,” he said.
“Pulang Araw” will also star Angelu De Leon, Epy Quizon, Rochelle Pangilinan, and Aidan Veneracion, among others.
Last month, Barbie and Sanya shared that they were taking tap dancing lessons in preparation for the project. They will play the roles of half-sisters and vaudeville stars Adelina and Teresita.
