Derrick Monasterio says viewers can expect more intense scenes in 'Makiling'

Following a heavy, emotional scene in “Makiling,” Derrick Monasterio teased that more intense scenes await viewers in the upcoming episodes.

According to Lhar Santiago’s report on “24 Oras,” Friday, Derrick's acting earned applause from netizens after showcasing a heartbreaking moment when his character’s sister died in the story.

“Kasi magaling din 'yung kapatid ko, tito, eh. Parang nu'ng hindi pa kami nagsi-scene, tinatrato n'ya na ako as kuya, parang tina-try niyang gumawa ng relationship sa akin. So, ang galing niya do'n, mas nadala ko 'yon nang totoo nu'ng eksena na,” he said.

Derrick also shared an emotional scene with Richard Quan, who plays his dad.

“'Yun ‘yung pinaka-una naming ginawang eksena, so medyo nangangapa pa kami sa character pero we need to go really big na agad on the first scene. So, medyo challenging pero masaya kasi once na nandu'n ka na sa flow ng emotion, tito, tuluy-tuloy eh,” he said.

Makiling” marks Derrick's return to GMA Afternoon Prime with Elle Villanueva following “Return to Paradise.”

Other cast members include Thea Tolentino, Myrtle Sarrosa, Claire Castro, Kristoffer Martin, Teejay Marquez, and Royce Cabrera.

“Makiling” airs Mondays–Fridays at 4:05 p.m.
