Jiro Manio hasn't closed his doors to showbiz but...

Jiro Manio reveals why he hasn't returned to showbiz

Jiro Manio appeared on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" Friday and discussed a variety of things, from his recent Pinoy Pawnstars appearance where he sold his Gawad Urian trophy, to looking for his Japanese father, from his gig as a drug rehab volunteer to his possible return to show business.

He admits he misses showbiz, and when asked if he is aware he is a good actor, Jiro confidently answered yes.

The former child star revealed he actually still receives showbiz offers from time to time but he can't fully commit to returning to showbiz because his doctors advised him not to.

"Pinagbawalan ng mga doctor sa rehab baka maging effect ng stress ko, magkasakit ako ulit," he said.

Jiro added, "Hanggang ngayon, nag-te-take ako ng medicine."

[My doctors from rehab advised me not to take show biz projects because I might get sick again because of the stress. Until now, I take medicines.]

He said his doctors forbade him a lot of things. "Bawal mapuyat, bawal masyado magalit. Bawal yung mga substance," Jiro enumerated some of them.

[I can't stay up too late. I can't get angry too much. I can't take substances.]

Earlier in the interview, he shared how people would randomly walk up to him to ask if he will ever return to showbiz.

"Sinasabi ko sa kanila, kailangan ko ng full recovery," the former child actor said.

At the Fast Talk portion of the interview, the King of Talk flat-out asked Jiro if he will return to showbiz.

"No," was his decided answer.

Jiro's guesting on "Fast Talk" comes at the heels of his surprise "Pinoy Pawnstars" appearance where he sold the Gawad Urian Best Actor trophy he won for "Magnifico."
