'Rewind' is now the highest grossing Filipino film of all time in PH domestic sales
Kapuso power couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera just made box office history!
According to Aubrey Carampel’s report on “24 Oras,” Thursday, the couple achieved another milestone as their movie “Rewind” is now the highest grossing Filipino film of all time in Philippine domestic sales.
The good news was announced during the movie’s thanksgiving party attended by the cast and production team.
“Rewind,” an entry to the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival, surpassed the earnings of the 2019 blockbuster movie, “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” top-billed by Kapuso Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo.
“Hindi ko magagawa ‘yung character ni Mary kung hindi talaga si Dong ‘yung partner ko. Si Dong ‘yung palaging nagchi-cheer sa akin na kaya kong gawin ‘yung mga bagay bagay kasi nung ginagawa ko ‘to, natatakot ako parang baka hindii ko magampanan si Mary kasi natatakot ako sa expectations ng lahat ng tao kasi after 13 years bumalik ako para magtrabaho,” Marian said in her speech.
According to the Kapuso Primetime King and Queen, the sacrifices they made during the holidays without their family were worth it.
Dingdong concluded his “Rewind” and MMFF experience with a heartfelt post on Instagram.
"Now, as the curtain falls on the MMFF, I extend a salute to the ten films that courageously shared their beautiful stories. These films are destined to be timeless pieces, outliving us all. It’s an honor to be part of the historic 49th MMF," he said.
Congratulations, Dingdong and Marian!
