Ara Mina reveals she had a stalker, got indecent proposals in her early career

Ara Mina opened up about having a stalker and encountering indecent proposals when she first started her career.

In an interview on "Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel," the actress talked about her career beginnings and starting in showbiz. Ara Mina appeared on "That's Entertainment" at 14 years old, later became a mainstay on "Bubble Gang," and also made a name for herself as a sexy comedian and dramatic actress.

However, with these great opportunities also come instances where Ara felt unsafe. She revealed on the podcast that she once had a stalker.

"I remember nagkaroon lang ako ng stalker. Nagkaroon ako ng mga suitors na, as in talagang mga... I admit na mayroong mga indecent proposal na nakakatakot," the actress said.

Ara added that the proposals would be from total strangers, and that they would contact her manager asking to meet up.

"Inaway ng manager ko, kasi 'di ba parang may mga weird eh. Parang feeling nila kaya nilang bilhin lahat," Ara said.

"Wala pa naman social media nun, so it's really hard for the guy to connect kung hindi mo talaga ma-mi-meet," she added.

Ara also said that she would rarely answer the phone if a stranger was calling.

However, if the interaction happens in real life, she has to be careful.

"Kapag kunwari na-encounter ko na na-meet at tapos parang iba 'yung ano niya dating, umiiwas na ako and may mga bantay ako," she said.

Ara most recently appeared in the series, "Lovers/Liars," which ended its run this January.

In 2021, she got married to Philippine International Trading Corporation (PITC) President and CEO Dave Almarinez.
