Rabiya Mateo is a lovely 'diwata' behind the scenes of 'Makiling'
Even when the cameras aren’t rolling, Rabiya Mateo is a lovely diwata through and through!
In her latest Instagram Reel, the actress and beauty queen shared some behind-the-scenes clips of the series “Makiling,” where she plays Maria Makiling.
In Philippine mythology, Maria Makiling is a magical diwata who lives in and guards the mountain named after her. Maria Makiling is said to be kind and helpful, but would show intense anger when abused or disrespected.
Rabiya was dressed in a white dress and floral headpiece. In between takes, Rabiya did not look stressed at all and continued to smile and interact with the production team. She also moved with so much grace at the photoshoots.
Rabiya represented the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2021 pageant and finished in the top 21.
She is a host on the GMA variety show “TiktoClock,” and was part of the star-studded cast of the drama “Royal Blood.”
“Makiling” is a revenge drama starring Elle Villanueva and Derrick Monasterio. Other cast members include Myrtle Sarrosa, Kristoffer Martin, and Thea Tolentino.
“Makiling” airs Monday to Friday at 4 p.m.
