Janno Gibbs responds to critics of family's Japan trip

Janno Gibbs has responded to those who criticized his family’s vacation to Japan a few weeks after his dad, Ronaldo Valdez, passed away.

In an interview with Pep.ph, the singer said that the trip had been scheduled long before the incident.

“‘Yung trip na ‘yun to Japan was scheduled talaga. Naka-schedule talaga ‘yun even before that happened,” Janno said.

His daughter said that they should cancel the trip but he said, “Hindi! Ituloy natin dahil kailangan natin ito para makahinga tayo... sa lahat. Para sa sarili namin, saka makahinga from… from lahat ng mga magtatanong, ‘di ba?”

He added that the trip helped them, admitting that, as much as possible, they wanted to stay away from home.

“Kasi nga, ayaw naming umuwi hangga’t maaari dahil dun nangyari, e. ‘Di ba? Dun nangyari, so hangga’t maaari, ayaw naming umuwi,” he said.

Janno then revealed that they are planning to move into a new house.

“Kasi, iba na. Iba na ‘yung tingin namin dun sa house, e. ‘Di ba?” he said. “Although separate naman siya, dalawang unit siya, e. It was in the other unit. But still.”

On Monday, Janno urged the police personnel involved in the leak of a video showing his father’s body to issue a public apology and also called out certain vloggers who made misleading posts about Ronaldo’s passing.

“Ganito na ba kababa, ka-desperado ang mga vloggers for likes and views. At the expense of our lives, my father’s reputation, my family, ganon na ba talaga ka-desperado?” he asked.

“Sa kanilang lahat… pati sa lahat ng netizens na nag-share at nagpasa ng video [to the vloggers and the netizens who shared the video], I want to say, shame on you or better yet, f_ck you. I think that’s the better statement,” he added.
