Kris Bernal says viral 'Starstruck'’ haircut was not scripted: 'Kaya 'yung iyak ko grabe'

Kris Bernal said that her viral “Starstruck” haircut was not at all part of a script.

In a TikTok video posted by vlogger and businesswoman Viy Cortez, Kris answered the question of whether it was scripted.

“Mahaba kasi talaga ‘yung buhok ko ta’s biglang ginupit nang gano’n,” she said.

“’Di siya scripted kaya ‘yung iyak ko grabe. First time ko nga," she added.

When Viy asked if the intended style was an octopus cut, Kris joked that it was "takoyaki."

“Umiiyak ako dahil ginupitan akong gano’n kaikli. Tapos, bawal akong umangal,” she said. “Pero ayoko nang magpagupit nang gano’n.”

Kris’s "Starstruck" haircut clip was first posted on GMA Network’s page, showing her crying at the end when her hairstyle was revealed.

She then reacted to the video, writing, “'Yung trauma ko dito. Chareeeet."

Even her husband, Perry Choi, joined in the fun and gave Kris a drawing of the look.

Kris competed in "Starstruck: The Next Level," the talent search's fourth season in 2006. She was named Ultimate Loveteam along with Mart Escudero. Jewel Mische was named Ultimate Sweetheart, whereas Aljur Abrenica was the Ultimate Hunk.

In August last year, Kris officially became a mom and welcomed her baby girl, Hailee Luca.
