Jennylyn Mercado turns emotional as she talks about late adoptive mother: 'Ang bilis pala ng buhay'

Jennylyn Mercado’s comeback with her series “Love. Die. Repeat” is finally happening next week, and before she officially ends her three-year television hiatus, the Ultimate Star talked to GMA Integrated News for an interview.

In Aubrey Carampel’s report on “24 Oras,” Thursday, Jennylyn was asked if she could go back in time, which moment would she replay?

Jennylyn’s adoptive mother, Lydia, passed away in 2016 due to sepsis secondary to pneumonia. She stood as Jennylyn's mother since her childhood.

Jennylyn then admitted that she had to make some adjustments as she worked again for “Love. Die. Repeat.

The Kapuso actress said that working out was among the things that helped her bring her confidence back.

“Kung mapapansin nila, hindi ako masyadong nagpo-post parang bukod sa naka focus ako doon sa family, parang ayoko muna makita ‘yung sarili na ganito ako,” she said.

While she was on a break, Jennylyn dedicated her time to taking care of her daughter, Dylan.

“Iba ‘yung ngayon kasi mas mahaba ‘yung time na talagang pwede akong hindi mag back to work o hindi magmadaling bumalik sa trabaho dahil nandiyan naman si Dennis, so talagang tinutukan talaga namin ‘yung paglaki ni Dylan,” she said.

Among those who were greatly excited for Jennylyn’s comeback was, of course, her husband, Dennis Trillo, who even gave the actress a special message.

Goodluck and advance congratulations sa inyong bagong show,” he said.

Jennylyn will be joined by Xian Lim, Ina Feleo, Valeen Montenegro, Valerie Concepcion, and more.

The series’ taping had to be postponed in 2021 when Jennylyn discovered that she was pregnant with Dylan.
