Pokwang to join Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes in new season of 'Jose & Maria’s Bonggang Villa'

Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes have started taping for the second season of their comedy sitcom, “Jose & Maria’s Bonggang Villa!”

In Aubrey Carampel’s report on “24 Oras,” Wednesday, the Kapuso Primetime King and Queen shared their excitement for the show’s comeback.

“Sobrang na-miss namin ang isa’t-isa kaya kanina nung dumating kami parang hindi naging one year and eight months, ‘di ba? Parang kahapon lang,” Dingdong said.

“‘Yung bonding namin dito, sobrang solid talaga. Tsaka ang saya talaga nila kasama,” Marian said.

A new twist also comes with the new season. This time, Dingdong is the one who can see ghosts.

“Medyo kakaiba para sa’kin ang character na ito ngayon. Exciting!” he said.

A new character will also be introduced in the sitcom, which will be played by Pokwang.

“As usual, baliw-baliwan na naman ang role ko dito. Magdadagdag ng saya. Aba, eh ano pa? Ka-kompetisyon ko sila sa kanilang bonggang villa, meron din akong ganiyan,” she said.

They will be joined by returning original cast members Benjie Paras, Pekto, Johnny Revilla, Shamaine Buencamino, Hershey Neri, Loujude Gonzalez, and Pinky Amador.

Jose & Maria’s Bonggang Villa” premiered on GMA in 2022. Its first season started streaming on Netflix in October last year.

It follows newlyweds Jose and Maria, who open a garden inn, and their adventures as they strive to be the most hospitable couple they can be.

Before working on the comedy sitcom, DongYan first made their fans cry with their comeback movie together, “Rewind.”

The two stars were moved to tears after seeing their fans’ support for the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival entry.
