Jasmine Curtis-Smith on working with Rayver Cruz: 'Alam kong I can lean on him'
Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Rayver Cruz’s upcoming series, “Asawa ng Asawa Ko,” is premiering on Monday, January 15!
In an interview with GMA News Online during the series’ media conference on Tuesday, Jasmine shared how grateful she is for having Rayver as a co-star, saying she feels comfortable working with him.
“He’s a really, really great support system to have. Kahit na bagong friendship lang kami, I really feel so comfortable at alam kong I can lean on him as a co-actor and also as a friend,” the actress said.
Jasmine continued, “I’m sure a lot of his fans know that already because talagang natural at organic na lumalabas ‘yun sa energy ni Rayver. And honestly, I really love to work with him again.”
In the same event, Jasmine described the Sparkle star as the bubbly and happy-going type.
“It’s been really fun na makasama si Rayver as a castmate, as a leading man. Lalo na kapag may mga mabibigat na eksena and pagkatapos ng mga eksenang ‘yon, napakadaling mag-bounceback,” she said.
“As a person, for most of you, kilala niyo na rin siya, he’s very light, bubbly, and a happy-going person. So, it’s nice to feel that meron kang gano’ng kasama and may support kang nakukuhang gano’n from your leading man,” Jasmine added.
Jasmine then admitted that there were challenges she had to overcome for the project.
“There’s a lot of challenges sa’kin kasi hindi ko alam pa’no maging asawa,” she said. “Pero ‘yun ‘yung biggest challenge, learning how to become and to portray a wife, and also a mother and pa’no namin ‘yun na-achieve, pa’no namin napuntahan ‘yun. For me, ang dami kong kailangang i-bend na experiences in my own life.”
“Asawa ng Asawa Ko” is directed by award-winning director Laurice Guillen.
Jasmine will give life to the role of Cristy, the wife of Rayver’s character, Jordan. Shortly after their wedding, Cristy will be kidnapped by a group of rebels, and she will soon have to fight for the marriage and family she once had.
It also stars Liezel Lopez, Gina Alajar, Martin del Rosario, Joem Bascon, and Luis Hontiveros, among others.
“Asawa ng Asawa Ko” will begin airing on January 15, Mondays–Thursdays at 9:35 p.m. on GMA Primetime.
