'Makiling' airs pilot episode, 'Crazy 5' villains vow to cause trouble in upcoming episodes

“Makiling” premiered on GMA Afternoon Prime today and we finally met Amira and Alex, played by real-life couple Elle Villanueva and Derrick Monasterio.

Aside from joining Amira on her journey, viewers will also get to know the “Crazy Five Plus One” set to make Amira’s life harder.

Played by Myrtle Sarrosa, Kristoffer Martin, Thea Tolentino, Teejay Marquez, Claire Castro, and Royce Cabrera, the show’s villains vow to cause trouble in the show’s upcoming episodes.

In Lhar Santiago’s report on “24 Oras,” Monday, the cast gave insights on what to expect from the show in the coming days.

“Of course, we'd really bring out the revenge in Amira and at the same time ipapakita talaga namin ang crazyness and evilness ng Crazy 5,” says Myrtle who plays Portia.

The Crazy 5, along with Elle and Derrick, reportedly have many scenes involving physical confrontations and moments of hurting each other. That's why they are said to be frequently heard on the set, apologizing after the scenes.

Behind the camera, the stars have formed a close bond.

“Sobrang close namin na siguro dahil lahat kami dito sa cast is really open to each other. Tapos kung meron man kaming mga scenes na napakapisikal, after that we just leave it there sa set,” added Myrtle.

During the show’s media conference on January 5, Derrick confessed that there are times he gets affected whenever Elle gets hurt while shooting intense scenes.

“Makiling” marks the couple’s return to GMA Afternoon Prime following “Return to Paradise.”

The series airs Monday to Friday at 4 p.m.
