Myrtle Sarrosa opens up about bullying: 'The best gift is forgiveness'

Myrtle Sarrosa opened up about her experience with bullying in grade school and shared how she has since patched things up with her former classmate.

In Friday’s episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Myrtle reminisced about being new to the school and how a particular classmate chose to bully her.

“Nung time na ‘yun she heavily convinced everyone sa class na not to talk to me, not to speak to me,” she said.

The actress and cosplayer also added that it became very traumatic for her to go to school.

Myrtle then shared how she talked about the bullying in a reality TV show she joined and that it’s the reason why she finds it difficult to make new friends.

After eventually winning the show, Myrtle went home to Iloilo and stayed in a hotel.

“When I entered the room, she was there, siya ‘yung nag-prepare ng hotel room ko,” the Sparkle artist said. Apparently, Myrtle’s former classmate saw her on TV and witnessed her opening up about the bullying.

“She told me ‘sorry sa nagawa ko sa’yo before. Hindi ko alam na ganoon pal ana nasaktan kita.’ Akala nila laro lang for them, hindi nila naisip na ganung levels of trauma ‘yung mabibigay sa akin,” Myrtle said.

“She apologized and then nagkabati nalang kami tapos sabi ko talaga the greatest gift is really forgiveness. Kasi back then she didn’t really expect na those kinds of words would hurt me so much,” the gamer added.

Tito Boy brought up the topic of bullying, as it is one of the themes highlighted in the upcoming GMA Afternoon Prime Series, “Makiling.”

In the show, Myrtle takes on the role of Portia, one of the antagonists who is after the magical Mutya plant.

The series, top-billed by Elle Villanueva and Derrick Monasterio, is set to premiere on January 8.
