Herlene Budol says negative comments made her stronger: 'Lalo akong nanggigigil na galingan pa sa buhay'

As we welcome the new year, Herlene Budol looked back on the previous year and the lessons she learned from it.

In Nelson Canlas’ report on “24 Oras,” Wednesday, the Kapuso actress said that in 2023, she realized not every day will feel like Christmas.

“Siguro isa sa mga natutunan ko, hindi araw-araw, Pasko. Kailangan meron talagang thrill na talagang mapapasigaw ka, mapapamura ka with taas-kamay,” she said.

Herlene added that, just like roller coaster rides, “Hindi palaging masaya. Kailangan may takot at may kaba.”

She then admitted that she was affected by the negative comments she has been receiving.

“Bugbog na bugbog na nga ho ako, tortured na tortured na po ako talaga sa mga basher pero hindi mo naman, paulit-ulit ko pong sinasabi na hindi mo naman talaga mapi-please lahat at tsaka hindi lahat maiintindihan ka. Kaya piliin mo nalang ‘yung mga taong nandiyan para sa’yo palagi,” she said.

However, Herlene said that it motivated her to work harder.

“The more na talagang ganun ‘yung nangyayari, mas lalo akong nanggigigil na galingan pa sa buhay dahil alam kong ‘yung pamilya ko ‘yung, may umaasa sa’king pamilya ko,” she said.

Herlene is currently surrounded by controversy after alleged screenshots of her conversation with her “Magandang Dilag” co-star Rob Gomez circulated online.

Herlene earlier defended herself from the accusations, saying, "'Pag dedicated ka sa trabaho, gagawan ka ng issue!"

In another statement, she added, “‘Yung batuhan ng mga script para pang kabisado sa mga linyahan ay nahaluan ng mga joke at one liner tulad ng salitang 'kain' ganyan na agad ang tingin nyo sa akin.”
