Benjamin Alves, Chelsea Robato reveal details of upcoming January wedding

A little over a year after they got engaged, Benjamin Alves and Chelsea Robato revealed that they would tie the knot on January 28.

In Nelson Canlas’ report on “24 Oras,” Wednesday, the couple said that they will hold an intimate wedding ceremony in Makati.

“We wanted the place to not to look static, so it's alive like it's something immersive, so when you enter the reception area, you feel like you’re somewhere else,” Benjamin said.

Chelsea shared that she only has one request from the Kapuso actor.

“I didn’t have anything in mind actually. I’m not the dreamer type. The only thing I asked him is you have to cry when I walk down,” she said, adding that she had already told Benjamin about it since their first date.

Benjamin and Chelsea recalled that they had known each other for a long time.

They were childhood friends in Guam and attended the same campus in college.

In 2010, they were supposed to walk together for a fashion show in Guam wearing wedding attire, but Benjamin refused.

“She was the finale bride to walk, and they needed a groom. And ang sabi ko no, kasi parang ayoko. Parang paano naman ako maggu-groom eh parang hindi pa naman ako ready magpakasal,” he recalled, saying he had no idea he was supposed to be paired with Chelsea.

They met again in 2019 through their mutual friend, Thea Tolentino.

“So Thea’s invited to our wedding. Once we got engaged, she was like, ‘We have to invite Thea.’ Siya ‘yung naging tulay,” Benjamin said.

Benjamin and Chelsea announced their engagement in December 2022, their fourth anniversary.

Last month, they hopped on a TikTok trend, sending kilig vibes to their followers.
