Anne Curtis has a message to OFWs who want to return to the Philippines for her birthday
Who hasn't seen Anne Curtis and Vice Ganda's hilarious bickering about OFWs on a now iconic episode of "It's Showtime"?
It hasn't slipped Anne's notice that it has become a running joke among netizens, based on her latest tongue-in-cheek comment.
On X (formerly Twitter), the actress and host wrote a funny message to OFWs who might be considering coming back to the Philippines for her birthday.
"Morning guys! Sa lahat ng may balak umuwi para sa birthday ko. Wala po ako. Manonood po ako kay ate @taylorswift13," Anne said.
"Next year na lang po!" she added, with a laughing emoji.
The gag started six years ago, when Vice spoke about the plight of OFWs, and how one of the hardest things they have to endure is getting homesick and missing family.
Anne agreed and said, "Lalo na during Christmas, or family celebrations na you're meant to be together."
Vice added as an example, "Birthday mo."
Confused, Anne said, "Birthday ko?"
"Hindi, kunwari, birthday mo," Vice replied. "Huy, Anne."
Recently, posts and videos joking about going home for Anne's birthday have surfaced.
"It's Showtime" airs on GTV after its grand debut in July.
