Andrew Schimmer thanks new girlfriend for bringing back ‘strength in my heart’

A year since losing his wife, Andrew Schimmer took to social media to pen an appreciation post for his new girlfriend.

Sharing a photo of himself giving his girlfriend a sweet kiss on the cheek, the “Transmutators” actor said he “never thought this day would come.”

“You restored me... Slowly put me back together,” he said. “You took away all the pain...and gave me something, That made me love the world again.”

According to Andrew, he was in total chaos and darkness before she found him.

Last year, Andrew became a widower after his wife, Jorhomy “Jho” Rovero, suffered from a severe asthma attack that led to cardiac arrest and lack of oxygen in the brain.

Together with their two kids, Andrea Mari and Neymar, Andrew grieved his loss tremendously.

In his post, Andrew said he knew "for some people" the development might seem a little "too [rushed]."

"But if you will allow me... I want to spend the rest of my life with you," he told his girlfriend.

While he left out the name of his new girlfriend, Andrew's old posts showed the account of Dimps M Greenvila, whose Facebook relationship status says she is “In a relationship with John Andrew Schimmer.”

They are also using the same profile picture on their accounts: An image of what appears to be their hands held together.

In one of Dimps’ recent posts, she shared a video of Andrew holding a bouquet of flowers and greeted him "Happy Monthsary."

In a message sent to Pep, Dimps revealed she and Andrew have been together for “two months.”

Meanwhile, netizens showed support for Andrew’s new relationship, saying he deserves to be happy again.

“Nag sacrifice Siya .. naging mabuting Asawa at Ama Siya ..Malungkot at malungkot pa din Siya dahil malaking parte ng Buhay Niya ang nawala .. deserve niya ulet sumaya,” a user commented, which Andrew thanked.

“So happy for you. Deserved after all the sacrifices you've been through. I know your late wife is happy seeing you happy. God bless!” another user said.

Meanwhile, Andrew visited the grave of Jorhomy on Thursday and offered some flowers and candles.

“It's been a year already... We all miss you,” he said. “You will always be our ANGEL.”

“Keep watching us up there, I know you can see everything now...and I know, You are HAPPY,” Andrew added.

Dimps also shared Andrew’s post and wrote, “your love and the memories you made continue to live on....”

“‘Thank you’ Jo,” she added with a red heart emoji.

Aside from “Transmutators,” Andrew also starred in “Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita,” and in the GMA Network series “The Write One,” “Descendants of the Sun,” and “Alyas Robin Hood.”

He also appeared in one “Pepito Manaloto” episode as Brix.
