Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Alessandra De Rossi on why 'Firefly' is worth a watch

The Metro Manila Film Festival season is just around the corner!

One movie to check out is "Firefly," and the cast members tell audiences why.

During its grand media conference as reported by “Unang Balita,” Miguel Tanfelix said of the film, “May puso talaga ito. Kailangan talaga nila mapanood para sa aral.”

Ysabel Ortega said the film has "depth."

"Talagang maka-capture mo 'yung emosyon ng mga taong manonood. Ang daming makaka-relate sa message," she said.

Alessandra De Rossi, who plays TonTon’s mother Elay, said that the film is important because it shows the point of view of the child.

“’Yun ‘yung talagang magdadala ng film eh, kung paano makita ang mundo sa lens ng isang batang inosente na may isang promise na gustong tuparin,” the actress said.

Directed by Zig Dulay, "Firefly" is a coming-of-age road trip drama about TonTon (Euwenn Mikaell Aleta) who searches for the mythical island described in his mother's bedtime stories.

It also stars Dingdong Dantes, Max Collins, Yayo Aguila, Cherry Pie Picache, and Epy Quizon.

Firefly” will premiere in Philippine cinemas on December 25. The film has already been receiving positive reviews following its advanced screening. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
