Alessandra De Rossi says she didn’t need to prepare for her role in ‘Firefly’
Alessandra De Rossi stars in the upcoming film "Firefly," the official entry of GMA Public Affairs and GMA Pictures to the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023, and according to the award-winning actress she didn’t need to prepare for her role in the movie.
In a media conference on Tuesday, Alessandra said she is not the type of person to prepare for such a role, instead preferring to naturally process her character.
"Hindi ako ma-prepare na tao. Kapag nasa shoot, iyon na yon. Kasi gusto ko naturally na ma-process ko sana yung character ko. Wala na akong kailangang i-prepare,” she told the reporters.
[I'm not the kind of person who prepares. When I'm at the shoot, that's it, because I want to naturall process the character I'm playing. I don't prepare.]In the movie, she plays Elay, a mother who loves telling bedtime stories to her son Tonton (Euwenn Mikaell).
According to Alessandra, forming relationships with her co-actors was the most memorable moment for her on the set.
“We’re just a family. Masaya lahat kapag nag-wowork,” she added.
Directed by Zig Dulay, "Firefly" is a coming-of-age road trip drama about a young boy who searches for the mythical island described in his mother's bedtime stories.
It also stars Dingdong Dantes, Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, and Yayo Aguila, among others.
“Firefly” will premiere in Philippine cinemas on December 25.
