Sharon Cuneta: 'Family of Two' is one of the best movies I've done

Sharon Cuneta just came right out and said it. Her upcoming movie with Alden Richards is "one of the best I've done," she said on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda Monday."

"And I've done what 66-67 movies," she added to emphasize her point.

According to Sharon, she just loved working on the movie that throughout the 20-minute interview with Boy Abunda, the Megastar had to repeat herself.

"I loved working on this movie, and I loved working with Alden and everybody," she continued.

"Family of Two" is a story about Maricar (Sharon) who became a widow when her son Mateo (Alden) was just five years old. She dedicated her life to Mateo so that when he is all grown up and "kailangan na niya hanapin yung kanyang landas, ano na ang mangyayari kay mama?" Sharon said.

According to the Megastar, it was so easy to get into her role, not only because she is a mother "four times over and because now I have a son," but also because of Alden.

Much has been said about the relationship that's developed between Sharon and Alden while working on the film and on Monday, Sharon reiterated the sentiment.

"He's really like my son," Sharon said of her Kapuso co-star, adding they are so alike in too many ways "it's so weird!"

"The way we think, even what we're busy with, what we do outside of show business, like we both like real estate. We both like watching blackhead popping videos," Sharon said.

"Even my kids were saying, 'mama, parang Kuya Alden is more like you son, 'no?'" She said.

"It was so easy to get into character because of Alden's role and because of Alden the person that I got to know," Sharon repeated.

Describing "Family of Two" as "very simple, beautiful and authentic," Sharon said "it's the kind of movie we need to see during these times, not just because it's Christmas but because w need something simple and heartwarming as this," Sharon said.

And it's true. In the teaser of "Family of Two" alone, Sharon and Alden turned on the waterworks. It must've been so compelling that the trailer has already reached 1M views on YouTube.

"Family of Two" is among the films participating in the Metro Manila Film Festival.
