Alessandra de Rossi says 'Firefly' is a film 'na ang tagal nang hindi nagagawa'

Alessandra de Rossi fell in love with "Firefly" the moment she read the script.

In an interview on "Updated With Nelson Canlas," the actress her first thought about the film was "sobrang ganda."

"To me, parang... it's something na ang tagal nang hindi nagagawa," she said. "Siguro dahil lahat tayo nalulunod sa comedy, rom-com, wala na 'yung mga pelikulang pambata."

"So, gusto kong gumawa ng ganong pelikula. So, sabi ko, it's the perfect time," she added.

Alessandra said that an important and compelling aspect of the film is that it expresses a child's innocence.

"'Yung bata, kapag nagkukwento ang isang ina, kapag gumana ang imagination ng bata, sobrang kulay niya, diba? Parang, ganong klaseng innocence, wala na tayo nun," she said.

"'Yung dati, 'pag bata ka, talagang sky's the limit, diba? Parang, pwede kang pwede kang lumipad in your imagination," she added.

"Firefly," directed by Zig Dulay, is a fantasy film produced by GMA Pictures and the GMA Public Affairs. It follows Tonton (Euwenn Mikaell) who searches for the mythical Island of Fireflies based on his mother's (Alessandra de Rossi) bedtime stories.

It also stars Dingdong Dantes, Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, and Yayo Aguila, among others.

"Firefly" is an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2023. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
