4th Impact laments lack of support in the Philippines
Female vocal group 4th Impact appeared on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" Friday and openly shared the difficulties they've been encountering in their career.
Comprised of sisters Almira, Irene, Mylene and Celina Cercado, the group lamented the lack of support in the Philippines.
"Last year, ang daming nangyari sa group namin and sa mga nakanuod ng video namin sa YouTube, nag-break down talaga kami," Irene began. "Gusto na namin mag-give up talaga. Pagod na rin kami," she admitted.
[Last year, so many things happened to our group. To those who were able to watch out video on YouTube, we really broke down. We wanted to give up. We are tired.]
"We have been trying here in the Philippines, pero walang nangyayari. Parang paulit-ulit na lang. Para kaming nag be-beg," she added.
"Masakit sa amin kasi hindi namin alam kung kailangan ba namin ulit maging malaki sa bang bansa para tanggapin po kami dito sa Pinas," Almira piped in.
[It hurts because we don't know — do we need to be successful elsewhere first before Filipinos will be able to accept us?]
The group is currently based in the U.S., where they are chasing their dreams because "ang usapan namin, hanggang gusto pa namin, laban lang," Almira said.
They recorded their self-titled E.P. there, working with the composers of Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, and Ariana Grande.
4th Impact initially enjoyed international success after placing 5th in the U.K. talent competition "X Factor" back in 2015.
