Alden Richards, Sharon Cuneta visit 'It's Showtime'
It's Showtime had some special visitors on Monday—Asia's Multimedia Star, Alden Richards, and the Megastar, Sharon Cuneta.
“Very very special ang Monday natin dahil may mga extra special tayong bisita ngayong araw. Sinong makakapagsabi na ang sarap sa pakiramdam na ini-intro natin siya dito?” It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda said.
[Our Monday is very, very special because we have some extra special guests today. Who would have thought that the joy of introducing [them] here would feel so good?]
Alden and Sharon appeared in the Showtime stage and gamely greeted the audience with the iconic, “What’s up, Madlang People!” followed by “What’s up, Madlang Kapuso!”
Alden can’t help but to express gratitude to the audience as he visits the Showtime studio for the first time.
“It’s an honor to be here. Kaya nandito rin po ako ngayon is to really show na tama na iyong ano, iyong network war o yung misunderstandings. Kasi isa lang naman ang gusto nating gawin. Mapasaya yung mga tao, yung mga nanonood sa atin,” Alden said.
[It's an honor to be here. The reason I'm here today is to really show that it's time to end those, you know, network wars or misunderstandings. Because there's only one thing we want to do. To make people happy, those who watch us.]
“Nice to back here,” the Megastar said.
The two later invited the audience to watch their upcoming film, “Family of Two (A Mother and Son Story),” premiering at the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival on Christmas.
“It’s not just talaga a simple movie, for us it’s an event. It’s an experience na alam mo iyong touching, simple lang, na happy tears tapos napaka-heartwarming po,” Sharon said.
[It's really not just a simple movie; for us, it's an event. It's an experience where you know it's touching, simple, with happy tears, and very heartwarming.]
Alden and Sharon joined the noontime show's “Tumpakners” segment, where they played opposite each other. Alden also took part in the viral “Mini-Miss U” dance challenge.
In November, the film released a teaser video on Instagram, offering a brief glimpse into Sharon and Alden's dynamics as mother and son, with the APO Hiking Society song “Pag-ibig” playing in the background.
Throughout their work on the film, Sharon and Alden have built a strong bond. Sharon referred to Alden as “truly like her own son,” while Alden has proven to be a sweet boy to his new “mama.”
Alden sent Sharon a note and flowers, and even surprised her with a visit during the rehearsals for her “Dear Heart” concert.
