Boy Abunda hoped Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla 'would be able to fix what needed to be fixed'
Boy Abunda has commented on Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla’s breakup through a Facebook video.
The “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” host said that like KathNiel’s fans and loved ones, he is also saddened by the confirmation of their split.
Seeing that the public is still in disbelief and remains hopeful, Tito Boy said, “I think this is an indication of how much KathNiel is loved by people in this country.”
Boy was also among those who was hopeful that KathNiel would fix the reasons instead of ending their relationship. He then said, “I was wrong. Mali ako. I thought they would be able to fix what needed to be fixed.”
“I can imagine the pain, the excruciating pain they have to bear now, si Kathryn, si Daniel, and KathNiels, ang mga fans. And I honor this pain," he added.
As a fan and as a friend, Tito Boy said “umiiyak ako kay KathNiel.”
“Katulad ng marami, I respect their decision to part ways knowing that they tried to save this love story with respect, but one that sadly ended also with respect,” he added.
Tito Boy then said that he read Kathryn’s statement again and commended the actress.
“Ang paulitulit na sinasabi ng aking isipan ay class is not dead in showbusiness. What a decent girl Kathryn Bernardo is. Napaka disente,” he said. “At a time when vicious ranting is commonplace, she chose to be cautious, respectful, circumspect.”
He added that Kathryn deserves love and respect. And following the split, Tito Boy said that the actress proved that a proper ending is possible, “no matter the pain. Bravo, Kathryn.”
Tito Boy also talked about Daniel’s statement, which was posted minutes after Kathryn’s. The King of Talk looked back on one of their past interviews, which he said he will never forget.
He asked the actor, “DJ, what is worse than betrayal?” Daniel answered, “To be forgiven.”
Boy said he does not know the details that brought them to their separation, but “I only know the love that they have for each other — a love that prevailed even when they decided to say goodbye.”
Before ending his video, Boy again said that he is sad by the news as someone who “probably did some of their most important interviews.”
“Kahit konti, I witnessed the story, the narrative of Kathryn and Daniel kaya sobra akong nalulungkot,” he said. “Kath, DJ, all the best and all the love. Maraming salamat."
Kathryn and Daniel confirmed their split on the evening of November 30, Thursday in separate Instagram statements.
The 27-year-old actress said that she and Daniel have been "drifting apart" for a while now, and they had to ultimately accept that they couldn't go back to what they used to be.
The actor also thanked Kathryn for the beautiful memories they had together during their 11 years together and concluded his post by professing his eternal love for her.
