Bea Alonzo says she's still processing Lolit Solis' apology
Bea Alonzo admitted that she is still processing Lolit Solis’ apology to her.
The Kapuso actress and the veteran showbiz columnist and manager approached each other at the birthday party of entrepreneur and CEO Rei Anicoche Tan. Guests were surprised that they patched things up at the event.
Lolit had been criticizing Bea on Instagram last year, prompting Bea's manager Shirley Kuan to defend the Kapuso star. Lolit added that she had been wanting to reach out to Bea and said she has no personal issues against her.
Immediately after offering her apology, Bea mentioned in an interview with Pep that she was still processing it.
“Kung magiging totoo ako, pinoproseso ko siya,” she said. "[Ang] hirap kasing magsalita kasi kanina lang. Hindi ko pa siya napo-proseso kasi, 'Wow, ang daming camera.'”
"Pero siyempre, sino ba naman ako? Tao lang din naman ako. Sino hindi mag-a-accept ng apology?” Bea added.
"Natural, lalo na I know na medyo ano rin ang health niya. Siyempre lahat... or tayo tatanda,” Bea said.
[If I were to be honest, I'm processing it, she said. It's difficult to speak because it just happened earlier. I haven't processed it yet because, 'Wow, there are so many cameras.' But of course, who am I? I'm just human. Who wouldn't accept an apology? Naturally, especially knowing a bit about her health. Of course, we all... or we will all grow old.]
The actress and entrepreneur added that she appreciated Lolit taking accountability. The party was also their first meet-up.
"So, sa akin, it means a lot na may accountability, nag-a-apologize siya,” she said.
"Saka unang beses ko pa lang siya nakilala sa personal. Never ko siyang na-meet sa personal."
[So, for me, it means a lot that there's accountability, that she's apologizing. And it was the first time I met her in person. I had never met her in person before.]
According to a GMA Entertainment report, Lolit previously apologized to Bea through an Instagram post.
Bea currently stars in the GMA series “Love Before Sunrise.” Joining the cast are Dennis Trillo, Andrea Torres, and Sid Lucero.
She also recently launched her new business venture, Bash, a line of travel essentials.
