'Jewel in the Palace' makes comeback on GTV

Is it 2005 all over again?

"Jewel in the Palace," the hit Korean period drama starring Lee Young Ae, is making a comeback on Philippine television!

The series will air on GTV starting December 1, Friday, at 2:30 p.m. after "It's Showtime," replacing "Jumong."

"Jewel in the Palace" follows the story of Jang Geum, a young kitchen cook at the royal palace who eventually becomes the King's first female physician.

It was a huge hit in the Philippines when it first aired on primetime almost two decades ago. Faith Cuneta sang its theme song, "Pangarap Na Bituin." Shamrock's "Alipin" was also part of the official sound track.
