Barbie Forteza reveals feeling overwhelmed when people talk about her love life: 'Nalunod ako for a time'

Barbie Forteza opens up about people talking about her love life, Jak Roberto, and David Licauco

Barbie Forteza opened up about feeling overwhelmed when people pit her boyfriend, Jak Roberto, and her on-screen partner, David Licauco, against each other on social media.

In Luis Manzano’s recent vlog titled “Luis Listens To Barbie Forteza,” the Kapuso actress said she had to take some time off during the height of the #TeamBarDa craze when some netizens were already involving her personal life.

“Noong una na-overwhelm ako, to the point na kailangan ko puntahan ‘yung kapatid ko sa Chicago,” Barbie said.

“Kasi para sa’kin, naging masyadong overwhelming, parang nakakalunod masyado,” she added.

[In the beginning, I was overwhelmed, to the point that I needed to visit my sibling in Chicago. Because for me, it became too overwhelming, like it was drowning me too much.]

The 26-year-old actress acknowledged that when “Maria Clara at Ibarra” gave birth to her love team with David, she liked the attention and recognition, but not how people were meddling with her personal life.

“Nalunod ako for a time so I had to leave, nagbakasyon ako sa kapatid ko sa America kasama mga pamangkin ko,” she said.

[I got overwhelmed for a time, so I had to leave. I went on vacation to my sibling's place in America with my nieces and nephews.]

“Noong high times ko dati, hindi naman ganitong levels, masaya [naman], hindi ‘yung nanghihimasok sa personal na buhay,” she added. “Lalo na with social media, they all have the power to say what they want.”

[During my high times before, it wasn't at these levels, it was happy [though], not delving into personal life, she added. Especially with social media, they all have the power to say what they want.]

In the same vlog, Barbie reiterated that there's no bad blood between Jak and David, and that they are all okay.

Barbie and David last starred in the GMA remake of "Maging Sino Ka Man," which is set to stream on Netflix starting on December 10.

BarDa is also set to star in an upcoming film, “That Kind of Love” and in GMA’s biggest historical action-drama of 2024, “Pulang Araw.”
