Michelle Dee wins 'Best National Costume' award at Miss Universe 2023

Michelle Dee is still winning!

The Philippines’ Michelle Dee just earned another award from the recent Miss Universe pageant!

On Friday evening, Sparkle GMA Artist Center shared the exciting news and congratulated Michelle.

“With the most votes on the Choicely app, MMD has won the coveted 'Best National Costume' award at the Miss Universe 2023,” Sparkle wrote.

During the National Costume competition, Michelle paid tribute to the Filipino weaving culture and her role as an Air Force Reservist.

The costume’s mural design featured two passengers who are her siblings on the autism spectrum, a nod to her personal advocacy.

Aside from the Best in National Costume award, Michelle also led the Miss Universe’s fan voting, took home the Spirit of Carnival award, and was among the three gold medalists in the Voice for Change video competition.

Michelle finished her Miss Universe stint in the Top 10. Despite falling short of bringing home the crown, her fellow beauty queens lauded her for her outstanding performance.

She is now on her way back to the Philippines and will arrive on Saturday evening.
