Ruru Madrid says Phillip Salvador is favorite co-star in 'Black Rider'
Ruru Madrid said veteran actor Phillip Salvador is his favorite co-star in "Black Rider"
In an episode of the "Updated with Nelson Canlas" podcast, the Kapuso Primetime Action Hero said he looks up to Phillip as an actor.
“Wala pa rin kupas si Tatay Ipe [Philip],” Ruru said.
“Tinuturo niya sa akin even ‘yung mga expressions ko, even the way ako mag-project kapag may mga pictorials, even sa pananamit, kilos, tayo,” he added.
[Phillip is still going strong. He teaches me even my expressions, even the way I project myself during photoshoots, even in dressing, movements, posture.]
Ruru said Phillip also gives him pointers about how to become a better action star.
“Sabi niya, ‘ang pagiging action star, hindi lang basta pogi ka lang dapat,’” he said, adding that the senior actor also reminds him to be humble.
“Ang action star daw kasi dapat malapit sa tao, dapat marunong ka makisama, dapat kahit sino pwede kang i-approach,” Ruru said.
[He said, being an action star isn't just about being handsome. According to him, an action star should be close to the people, should know how to get along, and should be approachable by anyone.]
“Na-appreciate ko kasi kung paano siya sa akin noon hanggang ngayon, ganoon pa rin siya, at the same time, sobrang proud na proud siya sa akin,” he added.
[I appreciate how he has been to me from then until now; he remains the same. At the same time, he is so proud of me.]
In “Black Rider,” Phillip’s character trained Ruru’s Elias Guerrero, teaching him skills that will come in handy as he takes on the mantle of “Black Rider.”
“Black Rider” also stars Yassi Pressman, Katrina Halili, Matteo Guidicelli, and Jon Lucas, among others.
