Polo Ravales opens up on intimate scene with Rob Gomez in 'Lovers/Liars'
Polo Ravales is a consummate professional in his approach to his intimate scene with Rob Gomez in "Lovers/Liars."
On Tuesday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the veteran actor said he treats love scenes—even with a male partner—as simply another part of his work.
In fact, Polo is so focused on nailing the scene that he brought his fiancée to the set as another set of eyes to make sure he is doing everything right.
"Gusto ko kasing malaman kung tama 'yung attack namin so ang ginawa ko 'yung fiancée ko pinaupo ko sa tabi ng director. 'Pag kinilig siya doon sa eksena ibig sabihin meron kaming chemistry ni Rob," he said.
"'Pag 'cut' nung director, nagtatawanan sila. Kinikilig silang dalawa nung director," he revealed.
Polo is no stranger to filming intimate scenes with fellow men, having worked on the "Manay Po" films in 2006 and 2008. Luis Alandy was the first male actor with whom he had an on-screen kiss.
Compared the scenes he worked on before, however, Polo said his scene with Rob was actually lighter than similar scenes he had done before, as the series is shown on television.
"Supposedly dapat meron kaming kissing scene pero parang medyo bawal. So ginawa na lang na parang pisil sa puwet," he said.
Rob, for his part, previously admitted that he got "super nervous" about doing the scene with Polo.
"Lovers/Liars" is a collaboration project with GMA Network and Regal Entertainment. It is the comeback project of Optimum Star Claudine Barretto.
The series, which also stars Lianne Valentin, Shaira Diaz, Yasser Marta, Kimson Tan, and more, airs on GMA Telebabad Mondays to Thursdays at 9:35 p.m. after "Love Before Sunrise."
