Emil Sumangil is officially a "24 Oras" main anchor!

On Monday, November 20, Sumangil signed an official contract with GMA Network as the third main anchor of "24 Oras." 

"Ngayong araw, pormal n'yo pong binigyang katuparan ang pinapangarap ng isang mamamahayag kagaya ko. Ito ay maging isa sa mga mukha ng numero unong primetime news program '24 Oras,'" Emil said in his speech during the contact signing. 

Sumangil joins "24 Oras" anchors Mel Tiangco and Vicky Morales in delivering the freshest news to the people each evening.

Present at the contract signing ceremony were GMA Network Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, GMA Network President and Chief Operating Officer Gilberto R. Duavit Jr., at GMA Network Senior Vice President and Head of GMA Integrated News, Regional TV, and Synergy, Oliver Victor B. Amoroso.

In their speech, GMA Network's top management recognized Sumangil’s dedication and hard work as one of GMA Integrated News’ most trusted broadcast journalists.

“Talagang magaling si Emil hindi lang na reporter, anchor ng news at public affairs program,” said Atty. Gozon, saying that Sumangil perfectly fits the position of one of 24 Oras anchors. “He more than deserves the appointment at malayo pa ang kanyang mararating sa trabaho,” he added.

Duavit also expressed his utmost support for the Kapuso Action Man. “Tayo’y nagpapasalamat sa patuloy niyang tiwala at sa patuloy na pagiging Kapuso, bahagi ng ating samahan, ng news. And we wish him the best. Lagi tayong naririto sa likuran niya,” he said.

Aside from "24 Oras," Sumangil is also the host of the GMA Public Affairs investigative show "Resibo: Walang Lusot ang May Atraso" that airs every Sunday.
