Michelle Dee proud of winning 3 special awards at Miss Universe 2023

Michelle Dee didn't end her Miss Universe 2023 journey empty-handed. Our girl in fact took home three special awards at the coronation event last Sunday (Philippine time).

Apart from being one of 3 gold winners of the Voice for Change competition, Michelle also took home the Spirit of Carnival Award given by pageant sponsor Carnival Cruises, as well as Miss Universe' fan vote.

In her Broadcast channel on Instagram, Michelle happily shared the result of the voting component of Miss Universe, exclaiming in all caps, "Panalo tayo sa fan vote!" 

She later gave a run down of the special awards she harvested at the pageant, saying the Voice for Change win was the most important of them all.

Michelle vied for the Philippines' fifth Miss Universe crown on Sunday with an advocacy for autism awareness. Inspired by her two siblings on the spectrum, her advocacy colored her Miss Universe campaign, including her national costume which had a special detail about it.

She was announced as a gold medalist for the Voice for Change competition, alongside Miss Angola and Miss Puerto Rico. 

She may have ended her Miss Universe journey at the Top 10 but Michelle won the hearts of pageant fans all over the world. Immediately after her exit, Michelle's beauty queen sisters including Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray took to social media to applaud her incredible performance. 

Nicaragua's Sheynnis Palacios was crowned Miss Universe 2023. — LA, GMA Integrated News
