Rob Gomez and Paolo Gumabao believe that a man's bravery is not measured by his physical abilities

What makes a man brave?

This is a question answered by Rob Gomez and Paolo Gumabao on Friday's episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda."

For both actors, a man's bravery is not measured by his physical abilities.

“I think parang, okay, maging matapang, hindi ibig sabihin, basagulero. Hindi ibig sabihin matapang sa away. Hindi ibig sabihin na maangas ka,” Paolo said.

[I think, like, being brave doesn't mean being unruly. It doesn't mean being brave in fights. It doesn't mean you're arrogant.]

“I think ‘yung pagiging matapang na ‘yan, it comes from, you know, being a responsible guy, being a responsible person. You know, pagiging matapang sa mga desisyon mo sa buhay,” he added.

[I think that bravery comes from, you know, being a responsible guy, being a responsible person. You know, being brave in the decisions you make in life.]

Rob then followed, “Ang pagiging matapang ko siguro ay ‘yun nga, pagharap sa problema nang buong-buo.”

“Pagtanggap ng mali, yes, pag-reflect mo. Siguro, you pick your battles, you don’t have to always be the winner, [it] doesn’t mean you lose, too,” he said. “I guess ang [pagpapakumbaba] is matapang din ho ‘yun. Sobrang tapang ho nun.”

[I guess my bravery is, facing problems head-on. Accepting mistakes, yes, reflecting on them. Maybe, you pick your battles, you don't always have to be the winner, it doesn't mean you lose, too," he said. "I guess humility is also a form of bravery. It takes a lot of courage.]

Rob also agreed that it signifies one’s decision to be better.

“Yes, to improve silently,” he said.

Rob and Paolo are set to star in the upcoming horror film “Shake, Rattle & Roll Extreme.”

They will be joined by Kapuso stars including Paul Salas, Angel Guardian, Elle Villanueva, and more.

“Shake, Rattle & Roll Extreme” marks the return of the Philippines’ classic horror film franchise. Its most recent film was released in 2014, titled “Shake, Rattle & Roll XV.”

Meanwhile, Rob recently starred in “Magandang Dilag” with Herlene Budol and will be joining Claudine Barretto in “Lovers/Liars,” a project between GMA Network and Regal Entertainment.
