Sanya Lopez to return as 'Danaya' in 'Sang'gre,' Rocco Nacino gets reunited with his Hirada sword
Secret’s out! Sanya Lopez will be returning as Sang’gre Danaya in “Sang’gre: Encantadia Chronicles.”
In an Instagram post, Direk Mark Reyes shared a snap of the Kapuso star on her first day of taping for the upcoming series.
“Avisala Emre!” Sanya commented.
Along with Sanya, Rocco Nacino has also started taping for the series as Mashna Aquil.
On his page, Rocco posed for a photo with his character’s sword, Hirada.
“Reunited with #Hirada,” the actor wrote in the caption.
Mashna Aquil inherited the sword from his father, Amaro. It is a rare type of weapon forged by both spirit and blood.
Direk Mark also gave an Encantadia trivia about the sword. According to him, the original “hero” sword and prop double designed by Noel Layon Flores “have been lost through the years.”
“When we had to remake the “Hirada” for San’gre 2024, we had to borrow Rocco’s personal copy and based the new swords for the new series from it. So what was once just a copy, is now ordained as the mother prop of the 2016! A cool full circle moment,” he added.
Last month, the lead cast of “Sang’gre” was first announced. The series will feature a new generation of diwatas.
Bianca Umali will play the role of “Terra,” the new keeper of the Brilyante ng Lupa; Faith Da Silva will play the role of Flamarra, the keeper of the Brilyante ng Apoy; Angel Guardian will portray the role of Deia, the keeper of the Brilyante ng Hangin; and Kelvin Miranda will be the first male Sang’gre as Adamus, the keeper of the Brilyante ng Tubig.
Rhian Ramos is also joining the series as Mitena, Cassiopeia's twin, and Glaiza De Castro is returning as Sang’gre Pirena.
