Michelle Dee uses Filipinas in Miss Universe preliminary introduction

The Miss Universe competition is on and Michelle Dee is on fire!

On Instagram, Miss Universe Philippine shared the clip of our Michelle's introduction.

The Sparkle beauty queen used Filipinas in her Miss Universe introduction, a letter away from the earlier reported Pilipinas.

"Michelle Marquez Dee, Filipinas!" Michelle said with aplomb. 

Before the prelims, the Sparkle beauty queen took to Instagram to share she was happy about how her closed-door interview went about. "Glad that I was able to highlight the most important aspects about my individuality and I pray it was well received and understood by the judges," she said.

Eighty-four candidates from around the world will showcase their evening gown and swimsuit at the preliminaries, which is currently streaming on Live Bash and YouTube, where Live Bash CEO Amy Emmerich is pushing fans to watch.

"The viewership and ticket purchasing from our fanbase overwhelmed the Live Bash host site, so in order to avoid any delays we are pushing to YouTube! Available for all, live from beautiful El Salvador! Head to our channel now!" She said in a statement.

This year's Miss Universe is one for the books with two transwomen and two married mothers vying for the crown. It is also the first time Pakistan is joining the pageant.  

The National Costume competition will take place on Friday morning (Manila time), before the coronation event on Sunday morning.

Michelle Dee is vying for the Philippines' 5th Miss Universe crown.
