Toni Gonzaga and Eric Fructuoso were once in a relationship, actor reveals

Toni Gonzaga and Eric Fructuoso together? That's what the former Gwapings member revealed in a recent episode of GMA Network's "Sarap, 'Di Ba?" 

The episode, which also featured his fellow Gwapings members Mark Anthony Fernandez and Jao Mapa, was full of revelations for Eric as he also admitted Claudine Barretto was his first girlfriend and that their relationship lasted for all of two years.

But in the Kwento o Kahon game, Eric dropped the bomb. Choosing the Kwento option, he was quickly asked by Carmina if it was true he was once in a relationship with Toni Gonzaga.

After expressing his surprise and making sure they were talking about the same Toni Gonzaga, Eric confirmed it was true.

"Oo, meron, yes," he said.

When asked to place the Toni romance in his relationship time line, Eric recalled "Nauna si Claudine, and then si Toni."

And when asked how long the relationship lasted, Eric did a "rough estimate" and said "lahat-lahat, kasama na yung 'wala lang' and yung may commitment, three years." 

He denied being the "chic boy" of the popular '90s boy group, saying "minimal ko naman [mga girlfriends ko.]"

When Carmina prodded, "bakit kayo naghihiwalay?" Eric could only muster a funny, "nagigising sila sa katotohanan."

Eric and the rest of the Gwapings was the hot topic in the '90s.

Fast forward to 30 years later and Eric is now a grandfather. Toni meanwhile is married to Paul Soriano. They have two kids. — LA, GMA Integrated News
